We're in the central zone for hunting. The season runs from September 1 to October 27, 2024. Additionally, there will be a second hunting period for doves from December 13, 2024, to January 14, 2025.


What is the state law in regard to dove limits?
According to Texas Parks and Wildlife, daily bag limit is 15 birds, daily aggregate is no more than 2 white-tipped, and possession limit is 3 times daily bag.

What are the legal shooting hours?
Legal hours are one-half hour before sunrise to sunset.

Do I need a license to dove hunt?
Yes, you need a valid hunting license with the Texas Migratory Game Bird Stamp Endorsement.

What do I need to bring?
Bring your hunting license, shotgun, ammunition, and safety gear. Consider wearing hunter orange or another visible color for safety. Eye and ear protection and sunscreen are also advisable. Bring plenty of water and snacks. Hydration is a must!
